Introduction
iTronixPal contains useful tools and calculators to assist in the field of electronics.
Features
iTronixPal is a feature-rich productivity app which contains 11 unique utilities for various design aspects of electronics. Whether you need help finding the correct resistor, calculating transistor gain, or just can't seem to remember the formula you need, iTronixPal has you covered. Other features include a tone generator and a four color flashlight.
Ease of Use
iTronixPal features a standard iPhone tab bar user interface for navigating between the different tools. The theme is consistent throughout each of the utilities. Each tool contains a simple straightforward interface; for example, iTronixPal incorporates a scroll wheel for each color band on the resistor tools making it easy to select the value. However, some of the selectors, particularly on the settings tab are not quite as user friendly as they could be. Also, the numeric inputs should be restricted to a numeric keyboard for ease of input.
Reliability
Most of iTronixPal works without flaw, and the calculations seem to be accurate for the values we used. An edit button is provided on the app that should allow for customization of the tab bar; however, this feature seems to be unfinished and did not function on either the iPhone 3GS or the iPod touch which we use for testing. Also, the tone generator did not return to the default state after switching to a different tab and back.
Conclusion
iTronixPal is a useful, comprehensive go-to app for electronics calculations, and an invaluable tool for any electronics professional.
